Simpson Strong-Tie offers a wide variety of angles in various sizes and thicknesses to handle light-duty jobs or projects where a structural connection is needed. Some can be bent (skewed) to match the project. For outdoor projects or those where moisture is present, use our ZMAX zinc-coated connectors, which provide extra resistance against corrosion (look for a "Z" at the end of the model number).

Strong-Tie A angles provide a way to make a wide range of 90 degree connections. The Strong-Tie A24Z angle features a G185 ZMAX galvanized finish for added corrosion resistance and requires the use of hot-dip galvanized fasteners which meet the specifications of ASTM A153.

Simpson Strong-Tie ABA66Z ZMAX Galvanized Adjustable Standoff Post Base, 6x6
Post and column bases secure the bottom of posts or columns to concrete and are perfect for decks or patio covers. Models are available for attaching to existing hardened concrete, wet concrete, as well as wood. The AB series also offers adjustability around the anchor bolt to achieve optimum post placement. Many models provide a 1-in standoff from the concrete to help avoid post-end rot from moisture.

Simpson Strong-Tie ABU66Z Z-MAX 12 Gauge Post Base, 6 In. X 6 In.
The ABU is an adjustable post base which offers moisture protection and finished hardware appearance. Manufactured with ZMAX steel for enhanced corrosion resistance. These post bases feature a 1" stand-off height above concrete floors, code-required when supporting permanent structures that are exposed to the weather, or water splash, or in basements. They reduce the potential for decay at post and column ends. Post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base and are not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports). Place the standoff base and then the post in the ABU and fasten using nails or Strong-Drive SD Connector screws or bolts.
